FEIW stands for Female Entrepreneurship in Ireland and Wales. It is an Interreg IIIA funded project that is being run by WIT Centre for Entrepreneurship in partnership with the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. The project was born of a desire to facilitate the growth and development of women-led businesses in the South East of Ireland and South West of Wales. As such, the project will design and run an enterprise training programme, specifically for women business owners in both regions.

 

The research team has used the findings of the research to design an innovative enterprise training programme that is specifically tailored around the needs of women in business. This programme will offer a comprehensive management skillset to women who have already started up a business and are interested in growing their venture. The programme will run for a twelve month period, during which time a combination of workshops, seminars and mentoring will be provided to participants. The enterprise training programme will be offered to 20 participants in the South East of Ireland, and another 20 participants in the South West of Wales. Both programmes will run simultaneously and there will be opportunities for the Irish and Welsh participants to meet on a number of occasions throughout the course.
